Level 1 Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy: What every practicing orthopedic PT should know

This course is an introduction to all things pelvic floor physical therapy. With a specific emphasis on pelvic floor anatomy, function, dysfunction, and treatment. The participant will receive an overview of common diagnoses seen in every clinical setting related to orthopedic issues involving the pelvic floor as well as key women’s health and men’s health issues and will improve their differential diagnosis and treatment skills in these areas. Internal vaginal pelvic floor examination is an optional lab for participants in this course.

Pelvic Floor Level 2 (Intermediate)

Students or clinicians who have already completed introductory content in pelvic floor physical therapy who want more in-depth education about the diagnosis and treatment of specific urogenital and anorectal diagnoses should take this course. Specific topics covered include: urinary incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, pudendal neuralgia, interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome, episiotomy, dyspareunia, pelvic organ prolapse (cystocele, rectocele, uterine prolapse), vulvar pain, lichen sclerosis, lichen planus, lichen simplex, and key anorectal diagnoses such as fecal incontinence, constipation or irritable bowel syndrome. Vaginal and rectal pelvic floor examination is a required lab for participants in this course.

Pelvic Floor Level 3 (Advanced Case Summit)

This course is for individuals who have been practicing in women’s health/men’s health who want to review complex patient cases using best evidence and reviews of recent medical advancements. A panel of experienced clinicians (PTs and physicians) will also be available to case conference on current cases being treated by participants.
