In our women's health program we evaluate the woman's health across her lifespan, and evaluate the role it plays in her current health status. We also determine what we can do to promote her health and wellness immediately and in the future. The following diagnoses are treated in our women's health program:
Breast Cancer: Neck, shoulder, thoracic spine, or low back pain, muscle weakness, or loss of motion following lumpectomy, mastectomy or breast reconstruction surgery.
Coccygodynia: Tailbone pain.
Dyspareunia: Pain with sexual intercourse.
Fecal Incontinence: Unexpected or uncontrolled loss of feces or soiling of undergarments.
Interstitial Cystitis: A chronically painful inflammatory bladder condition with symptoms of urinary urgency, frequency, and pain above the pubic bone.
Osteopenia/Osteoporosis: Structural weakening of the bone predisposing it to fracture.
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction/Myalgia: Pain or muscle spasm in the muscles surrounding the perineum (vagina).
Pelvic Organ Prolapse: Pain or "heaviness" in pelvis resulting from mild prolapse. Post-surgical treatment following prolapse repair (bladder, rectal) and/or hysterectomy.
Pelvic Pain Syndrome: A variety of symptoms which could include deep aching in the abdomen, back pain, and/or perineal (vaginal) pain. Causes can include trauma to the pudendal nerve (prolonged cycling, horseback riding, vaginal childbirth), postural causes, and/or previous surgery or infection (hyterectomy, endometriosis).
Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction: Pain in the sacroiliac joint, hip or groin.
Urinary Incontinence: Uncontrolled or unexpected loss of urine.
Vulvodynia/Vestibulitis: Vaginal pain with symptoms of burning, itching, swelling in the vestibule or Bartholin's glands (near vagina) and/or pelvic floor involvement.
